THE LAZY WAY TO WORKOUT

“How can I get fit fast?”

This is the eternal question that everyone has. Even though exercise might sound great and is a good way to release those endorphins, it is actually a task to get out of the bed and do it. Most of the time, we are just too lazy to exercise. If not this, we always have an excuse ready. It's either too cold to run outside or too hot to workout inside.

Here's how to get you fitter, without it feeling like the most painful thing in the world.

  1. STICK TO 10S

Try to do just 10 of everything. 10  push-ups and 10 sit-ups every day, even if they aren't consecutive. In the end, something is better than nothing. After a while, you can increase the number.

  1. STAND UP AT LEAST EVERY HOUR

Sitting all day is bad for us. Being hunched over a keyboard because you’re too busy is absolutely bad for our posture. Make a conscious effort to get up, stretch and take off your eyes off the computer at least once an hour. You can go to the toilet, make a round of tea, or even just go. You can even keep alarms on your phone so that you remember to get up.

  1. WALK FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES A DAY

Whether you can or cannot get out of your house, use the legs you are given and get moving; even just 20 minutes a day will be the first step towards the betterment of your health. It's easy to fit it into your daily schedule. You won't be gasping for breath. Just put on your earphones and start walking in your house or outside. You can even climb the plight of stairs in your building.

  1. DON'T EVEN LEAVE THE HOUSE

You  don't necessarily need to leave your house  to get a solid workout in. There are many easy, accessible workouts that you can do. By doing this, you won't require to make those exhausting rounds to the gym. Do some tricep dips, lunges, abs workouts – all from the comfort of your own home.

  1. USE TABATA

Tabata training is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, featuring exercises that last four minutes.Download a Tabata app or watch a Youtube video for a super speedy and high intensity work out. It guides you for 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off makes for a great high-intensity workout that has both fitness and weight-loss benefits. You can do burpees, mountain climbers or even the plank (to realise how long one minute it ), Tabata training will raise your metabolism and heart rate immediately and you should start seeing the benefits in no time.

  1. SWITCH OFF

It's not only about exercise. Our daily lives have a real impact on our health and mental wellbeing. Getting enough sleep is crucial to being fit. The 4628482 devices we own only distract us. So power down all the technology you've got coming out your ears at least an hour before going to sleep and you should find you start to have a better rest. Apart from this, constantly hydrate yourself. Take some time off from your hectic routine and sit by yourself, enjoying your own company.

  1. DON'T WORRY ABOUT HOW LONG YOUR WORK OUT LASTS

The quality of your workout doesn't depend on how long it is. Any exercise is great. The most important thing when first starting out is to just get moving in the first place. The time doesn’t matter as much as the quality does.

  1. RUN FOR JUST ONE SONG

Instead of being too ambitious and then feeling awful when it doesn't actually work out, tell yourself to run just the length of one song.  Get going and you won't even notice when the 3.5 minutes are over.

  1. WORK OUT DURING THE ADVERTISEMENTS

Lazy people like to watch TV. So why not combine this with exercise, and time your mini-work outs to be just as long as the ads. If you do a five minute circuit of lunges, burpees, jogging, skipping and squats during the ads, then you can reward yourself by lounging on the sofa.

  1. TRY MULTITASKING

Try squeezing in some sorts of exercise in your daily chores. For example, you can stretch a little when you're in the shower or you can even squat every time you get up to pick up something. Try looking for such creative ways to squeeze in some sorts of exercises.
